Rav Moshe explains that יעקב called this place a בית אלקים and then talked about מעשר because the only way to have a בית אלקים is to do חסד.

Rav Moshe explains that ה׳ appeared to יעקב on his way to חרן to show that you can have השראת השכינה wherever you are.

The 7 years of work was ימים אחדים. The ספורנו says the פשט is that יעקב viewed marrying רחל as being worth a lot more than 7 years of work; 7 years was nothing to him.

Rav Yerucham Olshin explains that the ladder is a message to go from one level to another through increasing your Torah learning. The reason ה׳ showed יעקב this now is because he was on his way to גלות, so even in those tests יעקב can still go up in קדושה.  Rav Binyomin Jacobs explains that even if our bodies are on the ground, our heads need to be turned to ה׳.

The value of מלאך is 91 the same as אמן, teaching יעקב that the עיקר is to believe in קל מלך נאמן.

The value of סולם is 136, which is 10, and the gematria kattan of לבן is also 10, telling יעקב that even when you’re going to a place like לבן you can go up in רוחניות.

The שפת אמת says that יעקב attributed his נבואה to it being a בית אלקים and not himself.

Rav Moshe Shternbach says that עשר אעשרנו לך means that יעקב will give back the money to ה׳ that is really ה׳’s to begin with.
